About Action City

A church for the next step.

We're a community learning to follow Jesus in real life — at home, at work, in the city.

The story

From a few families to a household.

Action City Church started in a living room. A few families, a Bible open between them, and the slow conviction that what they were reading was meant to be lived together.

Years later we're still that — just larger, and a little more organized. Sunday morning teaching, weekday discipleship cohorts, a pastoral team that shows up at hospital rooms and front doors. Baptism is a milestone. Testimony is a normal Tuesday. Serving is how you know somebody belongs.

We're not the loudest church in the city, and we've made peace with that. We'd rather walk slowly with you than rush you through.

Leadership

The people you'll meet on a Sunday.

A small team holding the door open. There are many more — these are the names you'll see most often from the front.

Bishop Sammy

Lead Pastor

Leads the teaching ministry and pastoral care. Father, husband, and steady voice in the city for over two decades.

Pastor Grace

Discipleship & Community

Stewards the discipleship class, small groups, and the slow patient work of helping people find their next step.

Pastor David

Operations & Outreach

Holds Sunday services together and leads the outreach team into the neighbourhoods around the auditorium.

What we believe

Short summary, long obedience.

A few sentences each. The doctrinal statement is a longer document — happy to send it your way.

  • Scripture

The Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God — sufficient for faith, life, and how we lead the church.

  • Jesus

Fully God and fully man. His life, death, and resurrection are the centre of everything we teach and live.

  • Salvation

A gift of grace through faith — not earned, not transactional. The Spirit gives new life and the community walks it out with you.

  • The Church

A family before it is an organisation. Local, visible, embodied — gathering on Sundays and scattered through the week.

  • Discipleship

Following Jesus isn't an event but a journey. We measure it not by enthusiasm but by Christlikeness over time.

  • Mission

We are sent — into homes, workplaces, schools, neighbourhoods — to make disciples who make disciples.

Next step

Come visit us on Sunday.

Reading is one thing. Showing up is another. We'd love to meet you.
